Turf, or peat, is the principle fireplace fuel in Ireland and is made up of the partially decomposed remains of dead plants, accumulated in waterlogged bogs for thousands of years.

Brownish-black in colour, in its natural state it is composed of around 90% water and 10% plant material.

Cut from a wet bog, blocks of around 5-6 inches in length are left to dry before use as fuel in an open fire.

Capture all the atmosphere and tradition of a real Irish fire with genuine Irish Turf sent you by mail.

Treat yourself or a friend to the experience of a genuine Irish Turf Fire with its unique aroma or use it to decorate your hearth, evoking memories of long ago.
